Toby has worked with people in both 3rd sector and statutory roles for over 25 years. Toby has a varied career background. This includes health promotion, community development, working with disabled people, welfare rights, residential childcare and children’s social work. This incorporated extensive experience of Child Protection, both in Scotland and Jersey. Toby’s last role was the Government of Jersey Lead for the implementation of the Capacity Law. Toby has worked in the field of capacity in Jersey since 2017. Toby has extensive knowledge of Jersey legislation and practice. Toby has a firm grounding in human rights and equality. Toby’s aim is for excellent practice, through learning. He has passion across all areas of his working life. Toby thrives on sharing knowledge and experience from a multi-disciplinary perspective. His hope is to engage learners, making their training relevant to their day-to-day role.
